VASE OF FLOWERS
By Peter Woodgate
Severed
in their prime
To
satisfy conceit
They
extend our conscience
Beyond
the unspoken word.
We
exhibit their beauty
Laurels,
projecting our ego
An
unnecessary sacrifice
And,
despite the absence of a future,
They
are, “still life”.

Nice Poems thanks for coming to my rescue...
ReplyDeleteAnd I love a vase of flowers and a bowl of fruit. Neither of which lasts as long if plucked from the ground or tree to bring indoors.
